Kiss My Putt, the brainchild of Janie Reese, is more than just a golfing venture—it’s a thriving community where women of all skill levels come together to embrace the joy of golf.
Janie’s personal journey with golf started at the age of nine, evolving into competitive play by the time she was 15. Many years later, after a successful career in global hotel sales, Janie drew on her sporting background to make the significant career change, establishing Kiss My Putt in 2020.
This new venture had a singular goal: to inspire women to take up golf. What began as a humble initiative in Auckland, assisting one client in reducing her handicap, has blossomed into a multifaceted enterprise in Queenstown.
Kiss My Putt offers an array of programs, including the “Learn to Play” series, the empowering “She Loves Golf” program, invigorating golf retreats, and delightful events like the “Kissmas Cracker.”
Accounting support
Early in her new business venture Janie found herself in need of expert accounting support. She enlisted the help of a friend who set her up with Xero accounting software and introduced her to McClean & Co.
Janie openly admits to being the “worst ever when it comes to accounting,” but for her, Xero is a game-changer. Janie now navigates the financial landscape with Xero for invoicing, billing and bank reconciliations, seamlessly supported by McClean & Co whenever the accounting waters get murky. Susanne, her main point of contact at McClean & Co, stands out for her prompt responses.
In Janie’s words, “They sort the numbers while I focus on my business.” This sentiment encapsulates the essence of McClean & Co’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs. When the fiscal year comes to a close, Janie confidently hands over the reins, knowing that McClean & Co will adeptly handle her end of year tax returns and any loose ends.
The collaboration has not only streamlined Janie’s accounting processes but has also cultivated an unexpected appreciation for the financial intricacies of her venture.
We’d like to think our partnership has become an integral part of Kiss My Putt’s success story, and certainly Janie couldn’t imagine managing business finances without Xero:
“I HATE accounting but I really like Xero. Bizarrely, I enjoy it & couldn’t do without it now.”
McClean & Co very much appreciate having Janie as a client. We admire her vision and passion for inspiring women through Kiss My Putt, and we look forward to nurturing and growing our relationship in the years to come.
